Okehampton Flyers trampolinists Mason Parker-Groves and Georgia Parker competed in their first home country English Series Qualifier at Telford International Centre, coming away with a bronze medal and a fifth place.
The English series is run by English Gymnastics (part of British Gymnastics) and is against all of the clubs in England. This was Georgia and Mason’s first English trampoline series competition.
Mason was first to compete, performing two new, higher level routines with style to achieve a bronze medal position in the Youth 9-10 category. Georgia also competed two tidy and stylish routines, including three new double somersaults in her second routine, to come 5th in the Women’s 15-16 yrs category. Both gymnasts competed in large classes.
Georgia and Mason’s coach, Vicki Pritchard, said, “We’re really proud of what Georgia and Mason have achieved this year, both in training and in competition. It takes a lot of hard work and dedication to reach a national level. They’re now working hard on putting more double somersaults in their routines and on developing higher difficulty skills for next year.”
