A bumper crop of news and results to cap the end of the 2022 season.
Regional Level Competitions
South West Club and Regional Challenge Cup Final
In June, our gymnasts achieved 17 qualifying places for the trampoline and DMT Club and Regional Challenge Cup at the University of Bath on 10 July. We had some great results on the day and a number of individual and team podium places. We also had quite a few gymnasts become Challenge Cup Champions, including Abigail Graves, Bracken Granger, Sophie Ware and Skye File for trampoline, and Victoria Bristow, Connie James and Mason Parker-Groves for DMT. Thank you to all of the coaches and parents who volunteered to help on the day, and to Ann Smith and Robin Catling for judging all day. It was also lovely to see such team spirit amongst the gymnasts.
South West squad places
Well done to Adela Wrzecionko and Mason Parker-Groves for taking places in the South West squad for trampoline and DMT respectively, and for Teegan Smith for achieving a reserve place in the squad for trampoline. Well done to Vicki Pritchard for being selected as a South West coach again this year. Following the South West squad training day on Sunday 24 July, the gymnasts will be representing the South West at the Inter-Regional Challenge Cup Final in Sheffield in September.
National Level Competitions
English Trampoline
Congratulations to Georgia Parker and Mason Parker-Groves for achieving a fifth place and a bronze medal at the English trampoline qualifier at Telford International Centre this month. This is a huge achievement at their first national English series competition. Both gymnasts performed clean, tidy routines with new skills to increase their routine difficulty.
British Championships qualification
Well done to Mason for qualifying to compete at the trampoline British Championships in October. This is the biggest British Gymnastics final of the year. Mason has qualified for the 10-12 years category, so will be competing against his own age group and the age group above.
