Apprentice of the Year Achievement

Appentice of the Year AchievementOkehampton Flyers coach Bethany Hill has won Advanced Apprentice of the Year at the Bridgwater & Taunton College Apprenticeship and Placement Awards.

Beth took a 16-month British Gymnastics apprenticeship with Okehampton Flyers Gym, Trampoline & DMT Club and Bridgwater & Taunton College. The apprenticeship involved full time coaching, college work, event planning including fundraising, as well as presentations.

Appentice of the Year AchievementBeth is an ex-gymnast who coaches gymnastics, tumbling and trampolining at Okehampton Flyers. She has a bubbly and friendly manner, and is very popular with the children. She has been a regular coach at the club over the last few years, and at South West tumbling and trampoline competitions, and this year has started coaching at national events attended by Okehampton Flyers gymnasts.

The Bridgwater & Taunton College Apprenticeship scheme is a national scheme covering many professions.

As part of her gymnastics apprenticeship, Beth also travelled to Lilleshall National Sports Centre for a training weekend, which included talks from Nile Wilson and the Gadirova twins, and coach development sessions covering many topics such as gymnast development. She is now taking further coach qualifications with Okehampton Flyers in gymnastics and trampolining.
